The multidisciplinary thematic network "Research on education issues" of the CNRS (RTP CNRS Education) is organizing, jointly with the Mission for Cross-disciplinary and Interdisciplinary Initiatives of the CNRS (MITI), an international scientific conference "Education and Inequalities", which will be held in Paris, Campus Saint-Germain-des-Prés (45 rue des Saints-Pères, 75006 Paris), from Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 May 2023..
Registration is free but required before April 23, 2023.

This conference will focus on interdisciplinary approaches to the issue of educational inequalities in the broadest sense of the term. Indeed, responding to the major societal challenge of educational inequalities requires promoting high-level interdisciplinary scientific research involving all disciplines. The cross-fertilization of scientists from different fields and backgrounds allows for a richer reflection on the ways of learning and the differences between the different methods used.

The origins of educational inequalities are multi-dimensional: indeed, the factors that come under the individual psychological dimension rub shoulders with social and economic factors, as well as difficulties in accessing educational and cultural resources (for example digital resources). In this context, the aim is to identify the causes of individual and/or collective educational inequalities, to develop or validate tools to fight against inequalities, and to engage in a more global reflection on the stakes and objectives of contemporary educational systems with regard to educational inequalities.

During the conference, keynotes, interventions and discussions will be organized around the following themes: The inclusive school; Observing and evaluating educational inequalities; How to fight against educational inequalities; Educational inequalities in times of crisis.

The RTP CNRS Education, created in 2020, brings together some sixty UMRs attached mainly to the INSB, INSHS and INS2I.
The Mission for Cross-disciplinary and Interdisciplinary Initiatives aims to support risk-taking, disruption and emergence.
