The Doctoral School Days (JED 397) is an annual event organized by doctoral students' representatives, bringing together between 150 and 200 1st, 2nd and 3rd year doctoral students at Sorbonne Université's Cordeliers site. The two-day event consists of a series of oral presentations in English and poster sessions by 3rd year PhD students, as well as guest lectures and a round table discussion. The aim of these days is to prepare 3rd-year doctoral students to present their dissertation project in English in a concise (5-minute) format to a non-expert audience. The ED days prizes (for oral presentations and posters) are awarded during a festive event at the end of the two-day event. These days are an opportunity to bring together Sorbonne University's community of physicists and materials chemists, and are open to ED doctoral students and their supervisors, as well as students from SU's physics and chemistry masters programs and the Engineering Schools in central Paris.
