This conference will bring together researchers and professionals in the field of archaeology with the aim of promoting the exchange of knowledge and discussing recent developments in the archaeology of Taiwan and Southeast Asia. It will highlight different types of data, including material culture, bioarchaeological evidence, and environmental studies, in order to provide a broad understanding of past human societies in the region. By bringing these perspectives together, the conference seeks to encourage meaningful interdisciplinary dialogue and to improve interpretations of long-term social interactions, mobility patterns, and cultural dynamics across Taiwan and Southeast Asia. Special attention will be given to developments from the Neolithic to the early historical period (ca. 2500 BCE–1000 CE), a key timeframe for understanding processes of regional transformation and connectivity.
