This mini-symposium brings together cutting-edge work on how cortical circuits shape perception, learning, and vulnerability to neuropsychiatric disorders—spanning neuromodulation, inhibitory plasticity, sensory coding, and the emergence of structured representations from experience. From sex-specific serotonergic control of anxiety and flexible inhibitory computations in visual cortex, to altered sensory processing in autism models and hippocampal extraction of hidden structure, the programme connects cellular mechanisms to behaviour in a remarkably coherent way. It offers both students and experienced researchers a clear view of how modern circuit neuroscience is uncovering principles of brain function across development, health, and disease—while showcasing powerful experimental and computational approaches. Address: Auditorium, 3rd floor Ilot Bernard du Bois - amU 5 Bd Maurice Bourdet, 13001 Marseille Registration is free but mandatory.
