Non-equilibrium statistical physics provides a unifying framework to describe transport, fluctuations, and emergent collective behaviour across a wide range of systems, from classical stochastic dynamics to quantum many-body physics. Despite sharing common conceptual structures — conservation laws, fluctuations, hydrodynamic limits, and large-deviation principles — the classical, quantum, and mesoscopic communities often develop their approaches along partially independent lines. NICENESP aims to bring together researchers working on classical and quantum non-equilibrium statistical physics, as well as mesoscopic physics, in order to open a direct dialogue between these communities. The objective is to highlight common underlying principles, clarify conceptual differences, and examine how methods developed in one setting may inform progress in another. Topics of interest include transport phenomena, non-equilibrium steady states, fluctuations and large deviations, integrable and non-integrable dynamics, open quantum systems, stochastic processes, and mesoscopic transport. Particular attention will be devoted to the relation between microscopic dynamics and emergent macroscopic behaviour. The conference seeks to provide a focused and conceptually coherent overview of current developments in non-equilibrium physics across classical and quantum regimes.
