Biolum Symposium on Cell Cycle and Cancer

3-3 juin 2026
BIOLuM - CNRS, 1919 Route de Mende - Montpellier (France)

BIOLuM’s Cell Cycle and Cancer Axis brings together 12 multidisciplinary teams to explore key questions in cancer biology, with a strong emphasis on cell-cycle regulation. The research spans a wide range of model systems—mouse, Drosophila, Xenopus, C. elegans, zebrafish, and yeast—alongside advanced 2D and 3D cell-culture platforms and patient-derived biopsies. Using complementary, state-of-the-art approaches, participating teams investigate how epigenetic and post-translational alterations drive tumorigenesis; which molecular mechanisms control cell division in physiological and pathological contexts; how signaling pathways are reprogrammed in cancer cells; and how inflammatory, metabolic, and other tumor-microenvironment cues influence disease progression. By fostering close collaboration across disciplines, the axis strengthens links between fundamental discoveries and clinical relevance, advancing a more integrated understanding of cancer cell proliferation and highlighting new directions for future therapies. This symposium marks the official launch of the BIOLuM Cell Cycle and Cancer Axis through a full day of talks featuring leading national and international speakers.
