27-29 mai 2026
Université Toulouse - Jean Jaurès, Maison de la Recherche, 5 Allées Antonio Machado, 31100 Toulouse, France - Toulouse (France)
The Conference on Multilingualism (COM) 2026 will take place from May 27th to 29th, 2026, at the University Toulouse-Jean Jaurès in France. Originating in 2005 as the Workshop on Bilingualism at the University of Trento, the event has evolved through various forms and locations — including Donostia/San Sebastian, Groningen, Ghent and Aix-en-Provence — before adopting its current name in 2016 to encompass the broader study of multilingualism. The 2026 Toulouse edition will center on language control and acquired language disorders in multilingual speakers, reflecting the expertise of the host laboratory (LNPL). It will also highlight the interaction between bilingual speakers and their environment, such as the perception of accented speech. Key roundtables will address issues like the cognitive mechanisms of language control, lifespan development of multilingualism, its neurocognitive effects, contributions to cognitive reserve and healthy aging, and inclusive assessment and treatment of language disorders. Nonetheless, submissions on all topics related to bi- or multilingual language processing are welcome. Abstract submissions open November 1st, 2025 and close January 15th.
