Responsible Mining : A challenge for energy transition and justice

The Forum aims to propose a forward-thinking analysis of international law and regulations to advance a fairer and more sustainable transition. Several roundtables will gather scientists, policy-makers, representatives from civil society and the private sector to discuss international energy law principles. Comparisons of different regional legislations will be carried out to identify best practices and foster cooperation among stakeholders. It will feature the progress of research in law across diverse regions. This year, the Forum will focus on the challenge of sustainable mining and critical materials for the energy transition. It will explore 3 main issues : - State of play on sustainable and responsible mining - How is sustainable and responsible mining legally conceptualised ? - Implementation : What are the possible legal instruments for a Just and Sustainable mining for the energy transition ?
