8th Biennial RAMICS International Conference in Brazil Research Association on Monetary Innovation and Community and Complementary Currency Systems - https://ramics.org/. The RAMICS research association focuses on studying monetary innovation and community and complementary currency systems. Since 2011, the network has met every two years to share experiences, ideas, and practices on complementary currencies. The 8th International Congress, titled “Plurality of Social Currencies: Solidarity Economy, Municipal and Community Currencies for Inclusive and Sustainable Futures”, will take place from 8 to 12 June 2026, in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), at the Fundação Getulio Vargas (Praia de Botafogo, 190 – Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, RJ). The event will feature keynote lectures, academic paper sessions, experience reports, and plenary discussions from 8 to 10 June, followed by technical visits to municipal and community banks active in social currency systems on 11 and 12 June.
