Workshop Objective: The goal of this workshop is to foster connection and collaboration among locally based scientists with an interest in marine heatwaves. We aim to identify and explore cross-cutting themes that can serve as a foundation for future joint efforts. Format: This will be an in-person, participatory workshop designed to actively engage all attendees. Morning Session: Each participant will be invited to share a slide showcasing their interest in MHWs (marine heatwaves). This could include past or planned research, relevant data or methodologies, open questions, or even a creative interpretation such as a drawing or poem related to the topic. Afternoon Session: We'll hold an open discussion to dive deeper into collaborative opportunities. Topics might include: Are current monitoring systems adequate? How can we better share data or coordinate efforts?
