International Manila clam Conference - Arcachon 2025
8-10 sept. 2025
Palais des Congrès - Arcachon (France)
Exploited bivalves are economically important resources for coastal areas. Among these resources, Manila clam (Ruditapes philippinarum) and European clam (R. decussatus) are found in a variety of ecosystems (lagoons, bays, coasts, etc.) and support relatively substantial professional and recreational fishing activities. This international Manila clam conference aims to bring together scientists from different fields (ecology, chemistry, socio-economics, mathematics, genetics, etc.) working on these two species, both in France and elsewhere in Europe and Asia. This event will also strengthen the links between the scientists and the stakeholders involved in management through dedicated exchange time. This conference will be held in Arcachon (SW France) from September 8 to 10, 2025. The event will take place at the Palais des Congrès in front of the Arcachon Bay and will include a field visit to Arcachon Bay. The symposium is jointly organised by Ifremer and University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour, and benefits from the financial support of XX, YY, ZZ etc
