IALIC 2025 Conference, Onto-epistemic Turn in Interculturality: Revitalising Knowledges from the Land, will take place in Auckland University of Technology (AUT), Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand, from 21st to 23rd of November 2025. This conference seeks to explore the profound intersections between ways of being, ways of knowing, and the revitalization of land-based knowledges. As global challenges such as climate change, cultural erasure, and social inequity intensify, the need to engage deeply with diverse knowledge systems—particularly those rooted in land, place, and community—has never been more critical. The themes of the conference are: • Indigenous Knowledges and Cosmologies • Understandings and Embodied Practices of Interculturality • Epistemic Justice • Intersectionality • Social Justice and Activism • Languages and Cultural Preservation and Revitalisation • Language and Identity • Language, Power, and Politics • Digital Communication Across Languages and Cultures • Language, Cultures, and Technology • Education and Social Change • Art, Literature, and Design Objectives: The aim of this conference is to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of diverse cultural perspectives and practices, promoting dialogue and collaboration across disciplines. We invite participation from a wide range of audiences, including academics, students, practitioners, educators, cultural leaders, activists, and policymakers. This inclusive and dynamic exchange of ideas will encourage collaboration across disciplines and fields. Together, we will examine how the onto-epistemic turn in interculturality can help navigate the complexities of our contemporary world while honouring the wisdom embedded in land-based traditions. We aim to contribute to the revitalization of knowledge systems rooted in the land, beyond Western paradigms. Submission Guidelines: • Abstracts should be no more than 300 words. • Include a title, author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), and contact information. • Clearly state the theme(s) your abstract addresses. • Include a 100-word bio of each presenter. • Submit your abstract by [TBC] to [submission link via website].
