Unveiling massive black hole evolution with gravitational waves and light

This workshop aims to make headway in our current understanding of the evolution of massive black holes, by bringing together theoreticians and observers, in both the electromagnetic and gravitational wave domains. The workshop will include both detailed review talks and contributed talks on the seeding and dynamics of massive black holes, their growth through accretion and mergers, the spin evolution of the black holes, the expected multi-wavelength and multi-messenger counterparts, including extreme mass ratio inspirals (EMRIs) and the supporting observational evidence. There will also be sessions on interpreting the available data and how future observatories will provide essential information to understand the evolution of massive black holes.
