CFOSAT Fifth International Science Team Meeting Biarritz March 2025

CFOSAT (The China France Oceanography SATtellite) was launched on October 29th 2018 with the two radar instruments SWIM and SCAT on board. Since the launch of CFOSAT, continuous improvements have been brought to the SWIM and SCAT products to guarantee the best quality of the data. The International Science Team with about 200 scientists from 17 countries continues to exploit the CFOSAT wind and wave data, providing new and original results on the ocean surface and on the ocean/atmosphere coupling. This 5th meeting of the International Science Team is aimed at sharing at the international level the most recent results based on CFOSAT observations. It will take place in the beautiful town of Biarritz (France) from18 to 20 March 2025. The meeting is open to any scientist interested in wind, ocean surface waves, air/sea interface and in particular to scientists who have used or are interested to use CFOSAT observations. Members of the International Science Team are highly encouraged to present the progress of their selected project. The detailed objectives of the meeting are: - to exchange on the most recent results on processes at the air/sea interface based on CFOSAT observations and on related observations of wind and waves - to provide scientific advices to the space agencies in charge of the CFOSAT mission, on the data quality, instrument modes of operations and mission centers products.
