Astrophysics at Radio Frequencies : a french national conference on scientific exploration with radio-astronomy data, towards the exploitation of the SKA

The Action Spécifique SKA-LOFAR invites the French community interested in radio astronomy to come together for a major national conference from November 12 to 15, 2024 in Paris. In the wake of the construction of the SKA observatory which started in 2022 and whose first observations are expected within 4 years, we are experiencing a period of renewal in radio astronomy with several historic observatories or precursors of SKA in operation. The vast scope of observational probes offered by these new instruments makes it possible to address new scientific questions affecting all areas of astrophysics ranging from planetology to cosmology. This conference will be an opportunity to discover and share the scientific results, methods and projects of French teams related to the analysis and interpretation of low frequency radio data. It will also be an opportunity to learn about the status of the SKA project and to think about future opportunities. This national conference will focus on the astrophysics of radio astronomy, across all its frequencies All topics will be covered. The majority of presentations will be made in plenary sessions and care will be taken to make the presentations accessible to everyone, experts or not in radio astronomy techniques. Some moments may be reserved for more technical discussions in parallel sessions.
