From Modeling to Strategic Decision-Making Facing Planetary Boundaries: Issues and Challenges of a Multi-Disciplinary Approach

Human activities have led to the overstepping of a large number of planetary boundaries and the unsustainable consumption of resources. This makes a "business as usual" future increasingly hypothetical, and raises the question of the realistic future in which agents (companies, individuals, states) can project themselves. Answering this question requires us to call on disciplines that are currently weakly connected to each other, in particular social sciences and economics, management sciences, physics, earth sciences and biology. This session aims to deepen the scientific dialogue between those involved in research in these fields, by sharing current developments.
