Summer School on Drone and Urban Air Mobility Sound Generation and Propagation

This summer school will provide participants with an opportunity to learn about the various aspects of acoustics for small aircraft, drones and flying cabs, which will be operating in urban environments in the near future, based on the latest advances in the field. The aim is to provide a global vision, underpinned by a good understanding of the physical phenomena involved, so as to be in a position to propose approaches limiting the noise nuisance associated with this new technology, directly linked to the development of electric propulsion. In addition to a general contextualization addressing strategic and societal issues, this includes various aspects, such as the mechanisms of aerodynamic noise generation and propagation in urban environments at medium distance, predictive methods, experimental noise characterization, aeroacoustic reduction and optimization techniques.
