The 9th International Symposium on Pedagogical Lexicography and L2 Teaching and Learning

The 9th International Symposium on Pedagogical Lexicography and Second Language (L2) Teaching and Learning (PL<L 2024), set to convene from October 25 to 27, 2024 at Huazhong Agricultural University in Wuhan, People’s Republic of China, extends a cordial invitation to scholars and practitioners in the field. Focused on the dynamic interplay between lexicography, L2 teaching & learning and knowledge services in the burgeoning Age of AI-Generated Content (AIGC), PL<L 2024 seeks to engage in critical discourse about the contemporary shifts and emerging challenges within this domain. Our symposium is committed to advancing the dialogue on pedagogical lexicography in a rapidly evolving post-dictionary era. We are excited to host a range of keynote addresses from esteemed scholars worldwide, aiming to stimulate a rich exchange of ideas among leading lexicography theorists, practitioners, and publishers, as well as experts from both China and the global community. I. Theme In line with the overarching theme, “Lexicography and Knowledge Services in the Era of AIGC,” we cordially invite academics, dictionary researchers, and publishers to contribute original research papers. These submissions should encompass, but are not limited to, the following topics: 1. Pedagogical lexicography and language technologies (esp. use of Chatbots in dictionary-making) 2. Dictionary-integrated L2 pedagogy: theory and practice 3. Lexicography in the context of convergence media: theory and practice 4. Dictionary and the dissemination of linguistic and non-linguistic knowledge 5. Reports on lexicographical and lexicological projects We encourage submissions that offer innovative perspectives and insights into these areas, fostering a comprehensive dialogue on the evolving landscape of lexicography and knowledge services in the era of AIGC.
