Snow Microwave Radiative Transfer Training 2023 (Bremerhaven, Germany - July 2023)

SMRT is a new active/passive microwave model for seasonal snow, sea-ice and lake ice developed in the framework of an ESA project aiming at exploring the role of snow microstructure and unifying the ingredients of existing model/theories (MEMLS, DMRT-QMS, HUT, ...). The aim of this 2.5 day workshop is to provide a general introduction to snow microwave modelling and a specific introduction to SMRT. Participants will have an opportunity to learn how to use the SMRT model and compare different modelling approaches (e.g. IBA, DMRT, ...).
