HUGOD Conference 2nd and 3rd February 2023 NOVA University Lisbon | Lisbon, Portugal Humanities Going Digital Teaching, training & research experiences Following the contemporary advancement of digital technologies and the transformation of requirements for knowledge and skills of university graduates for the future, the education system is in the process of accommodating change towards the online environment. The Humanities Going Digital project (Erasmus+), a cooperation between the universities of Palacký (Check Republic), NOVA Lisbon (Portugal) and Pečs (Hungary), focuses on the development of teaching methodologies, curricula and materials aiming at contributing to new ways of teaching (off and online) and new educational methods. This encompasses the inclusion of individual research activities of teachers and students in the field of Digital Humanities, while fostering the dialogue between the students in a professional and academic environment and promoting the direct reflection of the results of their work in the courses. In this context, and building upon three major axes, – ICT – new technologies – digital competencies, – New innovative curricula/educational methods/development of training courses, – Open and distance learning, This conference aims at presenting and discussing training, teaching and research experiences contributing to Digital Humanities, i.e., the field at the intersection of computational and digital technologies and all the disciplines of the Humanities, developed within the scope of the project and in other activities and institutions. We invite all interested – teachers, students, researchers, and curators – to present their experiences and work on using and/or perfecting new technologies and digital competencies; innovative curricula and courses; innovative training and teaching methods; and open/distance/hybrid learning; and also on opportunities, challenges and solutions in Digital Humanities (see Call for Abstracts). The authors of the accepted communications will be invited, after the conference, to submit a full paper to be published in a special issue of an international journal (to be announced). Registration in the conference is FREE, but mandatory! Register here!
