This international conference "Numerical methods for hyperbolic problems (NumHyp)" aims to promote exchanges between mathematicians from different countries (Germany, Spain, France, Italy) on issues related to recent developments and new directions in the field of numerical methods for hyperbolic partial differential equations. These equations appear in a large number of models in science and engineering. Some of the best known examples are the compressible Euler and Navier-Stokes equations, the Saint-Venant equations, magnetohydrodynamic equations, multiphase fluid models, hyperbolic formulations of continuum mechanics and even general relativity. Examples of application areas are aerodynamics, oceanography, marine energy, plasma physics, solid mechanics, computational astrophysics, etc. NumHyp 2023 will be the eighth edition of a biannual conference series that began with a meeting in Castro Urdiales, Spain, in 2009. Other editions of this conference were held in Roscoff (France) in 2011, Aachen (Germany) in 2013, Cortona (Italy) in 2015, Monte Veritosa (Switzerland) in 2017, Málaga (Spain) in 2019, and Trento (Italy) in 2021.
