ESA's Rosetta mission escorted the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko along its trajectory for 2 years (from august 2014 up to September 2016) and had deposited the lander Philae on its surface. The payload of the probe included a dozen instruments for remote and in-situ measurements of the coma (gas and dust) and the nucleus and their seasonal evolution. This mission allowed the most significant advancement in our understanding of cometary formation and activity, and also conditions of cometary material formation.
The scientific analysis of the observations by the Rosetta is far from being accomplished due to an enormous volume of the information collected. The goal of the Rosetta Dust Workshop is provide exchange of experience and new results on the dust environment of the comet between scientific teams implicated in this work.
