Himalayan Journeys: Circulations and Transformations

This international conference focuses on movement as a particular social dynamic in order to explore how it relates to cultural practices, imaginaries and materialities in the Himalayas. We propose to address movement through notions of circulations, pathways and passages to allow for a multiplicity of angles of analysis, from the supra-national level to the local, and examine on-going transformations of social landscapes.
