Following 2 conferences on the theme of Sports Physics, organised by Ecole Polytechnique during the previous Olympic years (2012 and 2016) (lien donné par CC), the Laboratoire de Physique at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (http://www.ens-lyon.fr), in partnership with the initiative Sciences 2024 (https://sciences2024.polytechnique.fr) is organising a new Sports Physics conference, which will take place on December 6 to 8, 2021, in Lyon. The aim of this conference is to gathers physicists and actors of high performance sports, to foster exchanges and collaborations, in order to allow physical study and modelisation of sport to contribute to the improvement of performance. The venue will be the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, close to the center of Lyon, and the week around December 8 is usually a very animated week in Lyon, where a celebration called “Fête des lumières” (https://www.fetedeslumieres.lyon.fr/en) takes place with various events around the theme of illuminating the city. We hope of course that the world sanitary situation in December will allow this conference to take place locally.
