10th VLTI School of Interferometery

Interferometry has reached new heights with the second generation instruments of the Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI). From becoming open to non-specialist astronomers, interferometry has reached the status of breakthrough technique able to bring major milestones in today's science. We are organizing a summer school to train astrophysicists to use the VLTI and other facilities with the new generation of instruments.The aim of the school is to offer Ph.D. students, post-doctoral and permanent researchers an introduction to the technique of long-baseline optical/infrared interferometry and data reduction in astrophysics, namely, planet-forming regions in infant stellar systems, planet-hosting stars, circumstellar envelopes, young stellar objects, as well as the tools necessary to interpret these data : toy models, image reconstruction, and radiative transfer modelling.The school will be held in the heart of Côte d'Azur, France, at the beginning of September 2020.
